Many myths say that when the rainbow reappeared, the seven brothers who have now become nymphs were down to earth to take a bath. of course, this is just a fairy tale. then, what is the process of the actual rainbow.
The phenomenon of rainbow formation applies due to reflection, refraction, and defense of sunlight when meeting with raindrops. This process produces a spectrum of colors consisting of purple, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. However, the color of one rainbow overlaps one another, so that an observer can rarely see more than four or five colors clearly. The width of each color path changes, depending on the size of the raindrops that make up the rainbow. A small path is produced by a large incarnation.
The white color of sunlight is actually a combination of various lights with different wavelengths. Sunlight is a polychromatic light consisting of various colors like those that will see a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple.

The process starts from when sunlight passes through a raindrop which is then reflected or refracted towards the middle of the raindrops, which separates the white light into a spectrum color. Then, these separate colors bounce behind raindrops and separate more when they leave. As a result, the light appears curved into a color curve called the rainbow. Light with the shortest wavelength like purple is found in the curve and the one with the longest wavelength like red is on the outside.
A rainbow occurs because the light is a wave when passing through water, it changes the wavelength. Well, this change in Wavelength causes some color to occur. The various wavelengths of light that occur are responded to by our eyes as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. The wavelength of this light forms a band of parallel lines, each color with a color next to it. This ribbon is called “spectrum”. In the spectrum, the red line is always at one end and blue and purple on the other, and this is determined by the difference in wavelength.

These colors are components of white light (from the sun) called visible light or visible waves. The other component is invisible light, such as infrared (to the right of red) and ultraviolet (to the orange left).
Why is the rainbow shaped curved?
The beauty of a rainbow cannot be seen easily. Why? The rainbow can only be seen at an angle of about 42 degrees which is seen by turning away from the light source. So, the rainbow is formed curved or semicircular because the ability of our eyeballs to capture the usual light makes it look curved.
